Uganda: The Land for the Adventurous at Heart

With the holiday season just around the corner, while many of us would be busy planning family get-together events; those with an adventurous hint to their soul would find themselves planning trips during the extended time off from work.

Doing so makes sense as well. The travel is usually inexpensive, the hotels are not that booked, and you have plenty of time on your hands to enjoy all – or most – of what your favorite destination has to offer.

Furthermore, if you happen to fall into the category of a subversive traveler with a focus on adventure, then not many vacations could live up to your expectations as greatly as some magnificent Uganda tours could.

As a country full of wildlife, lush green lands, magnificent waterfalls, and several more activities, you do not need to look further to curb your desire for adventure on a holiday.

To paint you a picture of exactly what Uganda could do for your adventurous soul, here is a list of the top travel destinations in the country that you could visit easily once you touch foot with the ground of Uganda.

Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park

The Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park is known as one of the world’s prime destinations when it comes to seeing gorillas up, close and personal.

The rainforest park is located in the Kigezi highlands, and 60% of it boasts an elevation of over 2,000 meters. Gorillas roam freely in these lands, which is a frequently visited spot by those who love adventure, nature, and wildlife. Due to the park being in close proximity to the Rwandan border, many tourists combine their Gorilla sighting adventures between both countries.

Therefore, if you are looking for a wildlife adventure, then Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park would be a great choice.

Murchinson Falls National Park

The Murchinson Falls National Park is the perfect destination for those who enjoy the beauty of nature in its purest form, in both its living and non-living form.

As the name would suggest, this National Park is known for having Murchinson Falls as a part of its lands. The waterfall flows between Lake Kyoga and Lake Alberta, which are both famous for the flocks of wildlife that surround them.

The wildlife in itself comprises of over 75 species, including but not limited to the formidable Nile crocodiles, as well as rare waterbirds such as the dwarf kingfisher.

With its mix of scenic sights and wonderful wildlife, this is truly a location for the adventurous at heart.

Queen Elizabeth National Park

Also touted as Uganda’s most famous and most visited national park, the Queen Elizabeth National Park is a sight to behold.

The park’s lands house multiple lakes within it, and with those lakes, it boasts of just as diverse a wildlife. From intimidating Nile crocodiles to adorable hippopotamuses, and from magnificent bats to clever chimpanzees, the park has almost every creature that you could dream to see at an expedition like this.

However, having a rich wildlife does not mean that the park is good for only that. Since wildlife sustains on well-kept lands, exploring the park itself in all its glory is something that brings about a certain sense of adventure with it.

Keeping these destinations in mind, if you are on the fence about selecting an adventurous vacation destination during the next few months, then giving Uganda a chance would be a viable choice.
